Space Ibiza (home Diabolika2)

Understanding the Legend That is

Space is as though Summer clubbing in Ibiza has become synonymous with Space; no clubber's visit to the White Isle is complete without at least one Space session.

What is still on this unassuming building in the middle of a huge concrete parking lot in Playa d'en Bossa, that makes him so special? What kind of a club can generate such loving adoration that thousands of clubbers make the pilgrimage every year to Ibiza, just for their Opening and the Last Day?

Space Team spoke with the men behind the myth, and dug back into the mists of time to reveal the story of one of the most beaten Part revered locations, the Mecca of all dance music celebrates the day - a club that has for many become one of the most fun in the world!

It's all about the music

Pepe Rosello, a passionate lover of opera and orator 6 European languages \u200b\u200bhas been the driving force behind space from the beginning. He was a nightclub owner of his entire life , again starting with the stick of Playboy in San Antonio in 1963. He says he began in the late 50s and 60s with the arrival of the first 'Hippy America (escaping the bill for the Korean and Vietnam makes war). His eyes lit up as he recalls the incredible musical freedom they brought to the island - A mish-mash of musical styles and cultures, and most important of all this great desire to celebrate their love of music. Suddenly, the first bars were opened where the youth of the island was crowded wave music and listen to this new and exciting - La Tierra, Mono desnudo and Graffiti.

Spain was under Franco's dictatorship to the duration, and strict laws governing the import of foreign records and tapes from live performances of non-English threatened to drive back this new and Renaissance music in the underground ... and yet in this climate of repression a group of businessmen on the island, in their words of Pepe 'locos por la música' ('crazy about the music') refused being hit, and in 1973 Pacha was opened, followed closely by Es Paradis, Amnesia and Ku .... From the middle eighties, Pepe was convinced that the future provision with this big 'macro' sticks: only for their ability to make it commercially viable to bring the best live acts and bands to the public was anxious. In 1989 he took on a new and completely put the conference room of weakness / disco Space in Playa d'en Bossa.

The first challenge was to change the perceptions of people of Playa d'en Bossa same as it was primarily a family resort, and encourage people away from the main route of disco - San Antonio (Es Paradis), Ibiza (Pacha) and the main road between them (Ku and Amnesia - now the law). A

fond of music and complete, Pepe was well aware of the lengths to which people should be listening to music they like, and immediately saw the potential to open when everyone else had closed. English licensing laws say that a plant is closing for a minimum of 2 hours per day, so open space right from the word go with two sessions - once a night and day with a session of 2 hours in the middle to throw people, supply the bar and clean up before I leave again!
The bill was a variety of fun in those early years - Mr and Mrs Space, the Miss Ibiza and Formentera, tapes, live Flamenco show - a far cry dall'electronica today, yet it was a formula that worked and the popularity of the club grew.
1991, a young British DJ by the name of Alex P had the idea to put a set of decks behind the bar and play for people otherwise quietly enjoying drinks on a cold - outside terrace. He was joint two years later by Brandon Block and the Space Terrace was born.
The rest ... as they say ... is history.

The club culture explodes in the nineties
The current manager of space Pangratz Fritz joined the group in 1992, when the club culture and dance music was emerging from underground. He says there was no one important moment Space when you become popular, went hand in hand with the growing popularity of dance music, while clubs and Ibiza itself.
Along the growth of beating, it was inevitable that the cult surrounding the DJ. As early as 1993, the invitational was honoring the odd DJ decks - the Smokin Jo, Ricky Montanari and DJ Dag. Fritz fondly remembers one of his first parties on Ibiza, which is leading international Calls DJ spinning in 1994. Really make a promotion for Toro Rosso in Ibiza, was headlined by Sven Väth (who we hope to see you again this summer in Space) and Marc Spoon - the undisputed king of European Trance and Techno scene to life!
Soon thereafter another 'Promoted' parties were appearing - On Yer Ronson with Sasha, Dave Seaman and Renaissance with John Digweed, Carl Cox and also react with a live performance from Erick Morillo as Reel 2 Reel (we are not sure but we think it is likely that He is on Rollerskates ... just kidding!). And do not forget
larger-than-life Sunday Space Terrace resident, Brandon Block and Alex P who were fast turning their Sunday morning sessions of the island's favorite beat up event.

a rod DJs
Love to Play Area is all about the music, and it is safe to say that every DJ's international reputation have played there at least once. But remember that a considerable space of reasons has successful has been the excellence and continuity of its very own residents.
versatile DJs like Reche, Jose de Divina and Tania Vulcano, as well as the latest and clearly sums Jon Ulysses Steve Lawler. They are the ones who really understand the Space crowd, they are the ones who know what to play and when to play and that was so instrumental in shaping that classic sound of space, both inside and out.
But more often than not, is for those world famous DJs who flock to so much space each summer. Area enjoys very warm relations with so many of these international stars, many of whom grew old with his stick, and still give as much energy and now loves to the crowd as they did 10 years ago.

Such was the myth that Space also ask DJs to play for free. During the years Space & lucky clubbers have enjoyed impromptu September by Carl Cox, Sasha, Erick Morillo Sven Väth and many others.
Clearly with the growth of club and DJ culture, it would be unrealistic to expect DJs to run on the title to the door asking to play every week and this is something he understands only too well space - but you should just watch the friendship very close to that developed between space and the DJs who have supported down the years, DJs like Carl Cox, Sasha and John Digweed, Steve Lawler Erick Morillo and many others, understand that after 15 years ... Space is still 'the club DJs love to play'.

getting ready for the New Millennium
Just when we thought clubbing area and could not get any bigger space turned traditional concepts that sticks on their heads, announcing in 1999 a party of 22 hours - every day and all night Sunday - 22 hours straight!

Up until 1999, the Sunday sessions of the finite space, (for many rather suddenly!), An evening at 8 pm on Sunday. 'Where to go now? 'Was the question on everyone lips as they streamed out of the stick. There was also no doubt that a party could work longer, the question was how do? In a collaboration between units
Darren Hughes (the man behind the Homeland), Danny Whittle, and space, these marathon sessions that were born 22 hours, from 8 am Sunday morning 'til 6 am on Monday morning; ing that this diverse range of DJs and musical styles that people had complete freedom to choose when they wanted to go to space - Sunday morning in the main room ... Sunday evening on the Terrace ... or any combination in between ...
And boy it work - was a celebration the likes of which had not been seen ever before, for 14 weeks that summer, day and night! The DJ line up was like a holiday gathering, and the atmosphere was electric both inside and out. So good in fact we love sundays @ Space (like two years later became known) won the most desired prize Stick Happy Hours in 2002 Dancestar prizes!
Follow up from this revolution was the complete overhaul of the beats of DJ booths both inside and outside in the winter of 1999 / 2000. Traditionally, the Space Terrace
DJs who played behind the bar to the left of the terrace, invisible to most of the dance-floor. A hot Sunday afternoon in August of 1999, celebrating the Radio 1 weekend a separate DJ stage was erected at the far end of the Terrace. Carl Cox, Mousse T and Boris Dlugosh that played to a crowd ecstatic. Carl won the set of BBC Radio 1's Set of the Year award - and became clear space that the DJs and the crowd revelled in the interaction increased. So the current DJ booth was built and the bar was gone strictly to the personal bar. Was in a similar situation. Now the centrist DJ takes the stage at the back of the main room.

The most common stick World - It's official!
In light of all these improvements and the effort that makes space for groped each year and create more good conditions as possible to listen to and enjoy dance music, was a proud moment for everyone at the club win 'as the Good Rod in the World 2001 Dancestar awards.
Area in 2005 was honored with the award for most Global Good Stick to International Dance Music Awards of a focal point of the famous Miami Winter Music Conference in recognition of an early 2004 season.

the terrace @ Space
space literally built on that success in 2005 with the patching of the famous terrace (above) and the addition of a new one (see below) as well and picked up the award in 2006.
This meant the club had won the most universally acclaimed Global Good Stick two years running - a feat that was never done before.

the sunset terrace @ Space
Space and the Future
This attention to detail, continuous effort to improve what already is such a mix attractive and powerful - the Terrazzo light summer, the dark and the main room and powerful - that breeds the kind of loyalty can only dream of most clubs.

Fritz is very aware of this loyalty:
'I think that is why we put in as much effort in giving our guests the best possible experience as well put them in celebrating this.'
We like to thank all the DJs that no space would also especially Space and our hard-working staff in the office, in the stick behind bars and on the door - yes it is a fun place to work, but you would not believe the amount of work hard and planning which goes into running a successful club, the people of Ibiza, which showed immense loyalty and affection throughout the years, Pepe Rosello and Fritz Pangratz - the men behind it all, and of course a huge thanks to you, our clubbers!

I Woke Up And Spitting Blood

Entries

Lou Bellucci is versatile, eclectic, a unique talent for an artist who gives his all to your audience is convinced that the stage of the club is a real springboard communication with the public. It uses the showman of his work as an opportunity to get in touch with the people, charming and engaging, draws upon himself the eyes of tutti.Ha started this career in 1997 when he met Henry Pass, until the scandal comes to Palacisalfa and NRG Superclub and Unholy.

Henry Pass Hello hello friends sparrows sparrows and friends!
How suggeritomi dall'anfitrione Massimo Marino I decided today, when the very grateful unto me, to enter the letter "c" in my name for use in large galore as a synonym for social freedom; Pass Pacss purpose switches, or civil solidarity pact double, as the "s" are two! I do a great honor for her sister, her friend Vladimir Luxuria, the first transgender Mr. Although my "news" will be published just behind the April 9, the date of elections, I can not tear my braids honoring Vladimir much because of the "level playing field", the rest of his goodness is known and appreciated social everywhere, and no however, can deny me to say to the four winds that I, of course, I will vote Luxuria! Well, but ... But, but, but ... After all, the principles are luxuriant my own principles ... So then ... I'll say exactly what I think of the world, what I've written several times already in this very column. Great respect for the institutions italic and repudiation of all acts of violence, I believe are the fundamental basis for the much-vaunted peace in every grade, not as interference Church to dictate standards of conduct to govern them, ready to accept them! Whoever follows me will know that my life is purely scientific explanation, contained in a "Quark" in the words as Piero Angela, devoid of any tales of religion, even though I recognize that sometimes "pray" God help if only psychologically believer in office, as well as much applause acknowledged the many missionaries around the world who make the "bunch" of misery and disease to help others. But religions, especially the three monotheistic, they should take care of man as such, as the son of their God, regardless of sexual nature, because nature is it? I do not believe in no God, because I think we can believe in something just a moment after it has been found, but among many Christians, such as who is sooner or later will be rejected (rejected) because, simply, homosexual and those who "pardoned" and reduced the fold after being mafia and murderess! But there imagine! it is good that religious leaders should know that homosexuality is a perversion, but is in the nature of existence itself, knew well the ancient Greeks and Romans for whom sex life went on without warnings! Because in 2006 he dare not prohibit two people to form a family unit if not the only wedding? Why a man can not freely love another man and a woman another woman, but also a man love a woman, relying on so-called same rights offered to married couples? You against religion? The religion that makes two weights two measures, the religion (the Catholic Church in this case) that gives the powerful the ability to reverse the earlier decision of the Court of marriages with Roman Rota allowing them to marry in "gratia plena" and poor divorced denied the Eucharist. The rules need to be changed by force, our whole of Europe and have "crystallized" in the "secular seculorum" thanks to Roman law, however flawed and far from the Canon Law; honor and on the determination of Zapatero in Spain, which has managed to bring the rules to the principle of natural law of human beings. It would take whole pages to externalize my "modus vivendi" (but how many Latin quotations!) Could almost write an essay, so it think it is appropriate to move on, because last time I told my television on school d 'Art Friends of Maria De Filippi, and then I intend to give a quick and just below. Given that I do not know at the time of writing who will win, are Rita remained in contention, Eleanor, Andrew, Ivan and Raphael, and in spite of myself there are no Ross and Erion. I confirm my thoughts on the negative attitudes held by students antiarte and I hope that the only talent in the running, the powerful voice of Rita, had the better of the plotters Raffaele chatter, and the cry of omniscience arrancante Andrea (but definitely felt in its strategic depth, even if there is to say that these are good in acting but not a luminary of all), with the best Rita, I said, even on the sly and silent presence of Ivan (Good dancer because it follows only good applications for teachers and not for his innate art) and the ability to Eleonora, good and beautiful voice, but by the behavior "friendship" questionable. Hello guys it's late and his brother Lou Bellucci waiting for me at Heathrow with the most popular dj of Italy, the super Emanuele Inglese and Paolo Bolognesi to go to Venice for a romantic time of our exhilarating evening Diabolika in Laguna.
Hello Henry Pass, Pacss indeed!

Yoplait Light Flavors

Paolo Bolognesi Diabolika D. Lewis

About Paolo Bolognesi Paolo Bolognesi does not need nicknames and even less of prefixes. What is a DJ can be intuited from the outset, when he's talking about good songs, grooves and musical passions that comes straight from the heart. Paul was born in Rome and met .. Eighty years ago the world of radio and recording, as well .. Italian clubs. He began his career in a small radio. Awards, commitments, work and collaborations that after so many years led him to a turning point. Since 2002 .. changed everything around him: sharing in the birth and development of the brand m2o, where he leads Stardust .. .. .. the tangible sign of change. In fact, much more ..: the definitive consecration. Stardust .. .. therefore became his calling card: a program dedicated to club music becomes a pass to do their own input in the club culture .. olympians. A wise mix of minimal, the ferrous dose of house music and there are massive amounts of electro .. his daily fuel. Energies needed to oversee the programs that m2o provides on-air: from Unique Stardust In Love by In Da House in m2o Diabolika. And always looking for the most outrageous sound, the indomitable Paul enters the new trends, fashion sound, without ever losing sight of the desire for fun that characterizes the field of entertainment ... Thus were born, with a rush, by instinct, his productions: "Oh My God" (on Fahrenheit), "Nah," "One Two Three Four" and "The Bird" or the remix to "I Will Entertain You" to Rangovich or the one for The Drill of the homonymous track, or even to 500 and its 4Tune .. Strung Out. .. and .. Feel Alright Manu Lj, not to mention .. Sound Is Back .. for P. DJ feat Lizzy B and The Shadow .. One Rule ... bolsky fly away / come back ..... Not to mention the compilation mixes delel .. In Da House, Club and Club Area 2 Area. And the love for what makes the result more than two decades in the best clubs in Italy. If anyone tries, it is the disco for the Energy of Ciampino Diabolika House Party: l.. Paul .. resident, with records e con la sua credibilità
